Just get it via torrent.

Re: Rosetta Stone
I once downloaded every language CD Rosetta Stone did on one torrent. I think they would be good for getting your ear in, but would combine it with books etc to improve grammar and vocabulary.

Re: Rosetta Stone
thanks all. just looked at Babbel, no mention of cost thus far. Any ideas on the cost??

The missus is Sicillian so she should be able to help too.

Your missus is Sicilian and you're asking US how to learn Italian?

goose 4:05 Thu Dec 4
Re: Rosetta Stone
Sicillian and Italian are two different things.

and i intend to do my learning during my lunch at work or on the journey to work. without dragging her to my work i will struggle to learn.

Re: Rosetta Stone
I have also just married an Italian and trying to learn the language. Rosetta Stone was ok, but difficult to get time to do it. If you're in the car a lot, try Paul Noble Learn Italian from iTunes. I was also crap at languages but picked up stuff a lot quicker with that.

Good luck!

Re: Rosetta Stone
languages are spoken. get yourself a good female trainer. you'll be surprised how quickly you'll pick it up. RS and all those programmes can only train your passive knowledge

Re: Rosetta Stone
It'll cost more but get a private teacher. Will identify your weaknesses and keep you improving.

For info minchia is acceptable in Sicily but not in the rest of Italy.

The best way to learn a language is to be in that country and Hungry.

Re: Rosetta Stone
Its only really useful if you want to learn Greek of the Koine, Aramaic or Coptic.
